On the other hand, volleyball players should try their best to hit the ball precisely and land it in the certain area on the opposite side of the court. Timing is vital for a successful volleyball attack hit. An attacker has to choose the right time for carrying out an attack hit. It’s crucial for a hitter to be at the right place and at the right time.

Blockers are the first line of defense in a volleyball team. And of course, every volleyball team should have strong blockers. The main task of volleyball blockers is to make it difficult for the opposing team’s hitters to do their job. A volleyball player has to approach to the ball quickly, make an explosive movement and jump as high as possible and make an attempt to resist an attack when such a need arises. It’s necessary for a volleyball blocker to make quick lateral movements.

A setter is a volleyball player, who helps a hitter prepare an attack. A setter works closely with a hitter during a game. A volleyball player sets the ball and a hitter carries out an attack. A setter should do his/her job with hitter’s preferences in mind. The ball shouldn’t be set either too high or too low. In other words, a volleyball player has to set the ball to make it easy for an attacker to hit the ball forcefully and precisely.

First and foremost, a volleyball player has to select his/her position on the court. An athlete can be a hitter, blocker, setter, passer, server, etc. Every position requires certain skills. So, after selecting a position a volleyball player has to develop specific skills.
